Research

Our group works on materials modeling and simulation by using and developing computational approaches that leverage the accuracy of quantum-mechanics-based atomistic simulation and efficiency of data-driven machine learning for the theory and design of advanced materials for electronic and optoelectronic applications.

We are interested in phase change materials for beyond von Neumann computing, two-dimensional materials, mixed-dimensional heterostructures, electron emitting materials, etc. We develop computational framework, physics models and analytical theory for emergent properties and applications of those materials.
