M.S. with Emphasis in Geophysics
Note: We have new M.S. Emphasis in Geophysics requirements, effective for students entering in Summer 2003 or later. Click here to view these requirements. This program is designed for a student who wishes to emphasize geophysics in
terms of either solid earth or fluids. The student is assumed to have a degree
in physics, or another physical science or engineering, with a strong physics
and mathematics background.

The student will be required to pass a written research/thesis proposal and will orally defend the proposal before a committee made of three faculty, at least one of whom is from a department other than Physics & Astronomy. The student will also orally defend the completed Master's Research/Thesis project before this same committee.
